Waters announces it will introduce its new technology at the 63rd Society of Mass Spectrometry conference.

On May 27, 2015, Waters announced that it will reveal new technology at the 63rd Society of Mass Spectrometry conference, which will be held in St. Louis, Missouri from May 31 to June 4, 2015. The Waters Vion IMS QTof Mass Spectrometer is a bench-top tandem mass spectrometer with ion mobility to “remove[s] spectral interferences and generate[s] collision cross-section values for every ion.” The spectrometer also features rapid evaporation ionization mass spectrometer (REIMS) Research System with iKnife Sampling system, which “eliminates the need for sample preparation and chromatographic separation, providing… researchers with near-instantaneous data acquisition,” according to a press release.

Also to be introduced at the conference is the Oasis PRiME HLB and ACQUITY UPLC Glycoprotein BEH Amide 300Å 1.7-µm Column. Oasis, a solid- phase extraction product, provides samples for liquid chromatography and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry analyses in an efficient manner. ACQUITY column is designed to help locate glycan molecules in the development of therapeutic proteins.

“Waters has been leading the way in innovative solutions for glycan analysis to help our biopharmaceutical customers solve the challenges they face with their traditional glycan workflows. The new ACQUITY UPLC Glycoprotein BEH Amide Column, joins a family of market leading disruptive technologies, including our Biopharmaceutical Platform Solution with UNIFI for characterization, and our most recent GlycoWorks™ RapiFluor-MS N-Glycan sample preparation kits,” said Mike Yelle, vice-president of Waters’ consumable business unit, in a press release.
