Plate Reader for Automated Characterization of Macromolecules and Nanoparticles

Article

Wyatt Technology has added the DynaPro Plate Reader III to its macromolecular and nanoparticle characterization product offerings.

The DynaPro Plate Reader III from Wyatt Technology is an integrated instrument for automated characterization of size, molecular weight, aggregation, and stability of macromolecules and nanoparticles.

The instrument, which combines both dynamic light scattering and static light scattering approaches, contains a single, fully automated platform with measurements taken directly in 96, 384, or 1536 microwell plates. It can rapidly screen proteins, nanoparticles, colloids, and macromolecules to determine their size, molecular weight, aggregation, and stability profiles using a minimum of 4 μL of sample.

Additionally, the instrument can characterize both conformational and colloidal stability indicators like Tonset, Tagg, A2 and kD by running a temperature ramp or concentration series. Scientists can also perform viscosity determinations for the viability of biopharmaceuticals, and use the built-in camera to image each for additional insight.
