The EXcell 231 and EXcell 241 sensors from EXNER Process Equipment have updated software and connection features for improved flexibility and safety.
EXNER Process Equipment has added new sensors to its EXcell series for measuring cell concentration and monitoring cell growth. The EXcell 231 and EXcell 241 have software and connection updates that provide users with increased safety and higher flexibility. The 12-mm design makes the sensors suitable for use in laboratory fermenters as well as in later production processes. Sensor functions include measuring cell growth of yeast and mammal cells, measuring concentration of microorganisms such as bacteria and algae, establishing optimum time for feeding or cell harvesting, and monitoring fermentation processes.
The devices can reliably determine liquid absorption. The employed wavelength of the 850-nm LED light source also eliminates any color influence. The new plug is equipped with a standard cover flap to protect the electrical contacts in autoclaving processes. The newer software innovations provide users with more adjustment options when using the Modbus interface as well as new features when applying the EXNER ECI-03 communications interface.
