The company doubled capacity for laboratory services at its facility in Itasca, IL.
Nelson Laboratories announced on April 19, 2018 that it has invested in expansions of operations and service capabilities at the its laboratory facility in Itasca, IL.
The 10,000-square-foot expansion houses upgrades that include renovated lab space and a biological indicator sterility suite to support ethylene oxide sterilization validations. The company has expanded its test offerings to include more than double the capacity for bioburden, radiation sterilization validations, bacterial endotoxin testing, and product sterility testing for medical devices and pharmaceutical products.
New testing capabilities include medical device particulate testing, healthcare reprocessing validations, sterilization for reuse validations, and genetic microbial identification testing. These capabilities will be fully operational beginning May 1, 2018.
According to the company, its Itasca laboratory facility is now International Organization for Standardization 17025-accredited and adheres to the same quality system as the company’s global headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT. Additionally, clients are now able to track their submitted studies and retrieve test reports via the company’s secure customer portal.
