The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN), the United Kingdom’s innovation network, announced the launch of a new web portal that outlines the UK’s strengths and capabilities in medicines manufacturing.
KTN’s Medicines Manufacturing Landscape portal is an interactive tool that pulls together the innovation landscape, company base, and manufacturing sites for the entire medicines sector in the UK. The platform was developed by KTN on behalf of the Medicines Manufacturing Industry Partnership (MMIP) to address confusion about medicines manufacturing activities in the UK.
The MMIP was jointly established by the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) and the BioIndustry Association (BIA) and includes partners such as Actavis (Allergan plc), AstraZeneca, Eisai, Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, GlaxoSmithKline, KTN, ReNeuron, and Pfizer. This partnership was formed to strengthen collaboration between the industry and the government in making the UK an attractive and innovation-driven country for medicines manufacturing.
