Leonard Kanavy joins Genentech (www.gene.com) as vice president of commercial operations. Kanavy joins Genentech from Novartis Pharmaceutcials, US, where he was vice president of commercial operations.

Anthony P. Hurley was promoted to vice president of fill/finish manufacturing. In his new role, Hurley will continue to lead the South San Francisco commercial and clinical fill/finish operations and will have overall responsibility for the company’s future fill/finish facility in Hillsboro, Oregon. The Oregon site is expected to be licensed and operational in 2010.
