Call for Entries: Eppendorf’s Award for Young European Investigators 2019

Life-science company Eppendorf has announced it is now taking applications for its 2019 Award for Young European Investigators. From Oct. 1, 2018 until Jan. 15, 2019, researchers who are younger than 35 years with an advanced degree and working within Europe will be able to apply for the award.

First established in 1995, the Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators acknowledges outstanding contributions to biomedical research based on methods of molecular biology, including novel analytical concepts. It is presented in partnership with the scientific journal Nature.

The winner, once selected by an independent expert committee-chaired by Reinhard Jahn (Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Göttingen, Germany)-will be awarded €20,000 (approx. US$23,000) prize money. The winning work will be included within the print and online versions of the journal Nature, including a podcast. Additionally, the winner will be invited to a prize ceremony at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) Advanced Training Centre in Heidelberg, Germany, on Jun. 27, 2019, and invited to visit Eppendorf’s facility in Hamburg, Germany.
