Oceasoft has updated its line of Bluetooth-enabled temperature data loggers for shipping and logistics applications.
Oceasoft has updated Emerald and Atlas, its line of Bluetooth temperature data loggers for shipping and logistics applications. The second generation of these devices uses an upgraded version of Oceaview, the company’s mobile sensor management application.
The mobile app, available for iOS and Android in English, French, and Spanish, geo-tags the data loggers in real-time and automatically sends collected data to the company’s cloud platform. The data stored on the cloud system is accessible 24/7, with the capability to use a connector interface to integrate sensor readings with the client’s information system. Additionally, the system sends alerts and notifications once an issue is detected.
The application also includes a feature to monitor data loggers placed with transported products and in a vehicle’s refrigerated compartments using a smartphone’s Bluetooth wireless connectivity. Quality managers and other authorized personnel can use a web application to access the information collected in the field through the mobile Oceaview app.
According to the company, improved Bluetooth connectivity can control a large number of data loggers simultaneously, and allows for the reading of data through product packaging. Internal memory in both devices has been increased to hold 16,000 readings, offering connectionless data logging for periods of several months, including for maritime shipping. Battery life has also been increased to one year for both devices. Additionally, the temperature range for Atlas modules has been extended, covering from -30 °C to 70 °C.
Atlas is compliant with the DO-160 standard for avionics hardware testing, and Emerald has NF EN 12830 certification from Cemafroid, an international cold chain expert, according to the company. The company’s mobile and web applications meet the requirements of FDA 21 CFR Part 11 guidelines, as well as good distribution practices for medical products.
