ASI–Life Sciences introduced the DHX Disposable Heat Exchanger and the imPULSE MDS mixing, docking, and shipping system for single-use biopharmaceutical processes.

The DHX Heat Exchanger is a modular system based on the widely accepted industry-standard plate-and-frame design that uses bags to create a sterile fluid path. These bags fit tightly between five stainless-steel plates. The process fluid flows through the single-use bags, while the heating or cooling fluid runs in a counter-current flow through the plates in a completely isolated fluid path. Dimpled jacketing on the plates helps to create a turbulent flow and maximizes heat transfer.

A new mixer will also be introduced as part of ASI’s imPULSE Single-Use Mixing line. The imPULSE MDS has all the same attributes of the traditional imPULSE line including the patented mixing disc that provides thorough mixing throughout the vessel but has been designed as a docking/mixing system with a shippable mixing vessel.
