Tina Morris will be taking on the role of executive director for AAPS.
The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) announced on Jan. 23 that it has appointed Tina Morris, PhD, as its new executive director.
Morris is currently vice-president of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs at the Parenteral Drug Association, and, prior to her new position, she worked for Human Genome Sciences, Ciphergen Biosystems, and the US Pharmacopeia, according to a company press release.
“The Board of Directors is very excited to welcome Dr. Morris to AAPS,” said Dr. Joseph Polli, AAPS president, in the press release. “Dr. Morris will bring a strong scientific and regulatory vision, as well as extensive association leadership to this role. Tina has made significant scientific contributions at every stage of her professional career. AAPS is eager to have her apply her skills to advancing the capacity of our members and the pharmaceutical sciences.”
“I am honored and excited to be joining an organization that has meant so much to my own development in the field of pharmaceutical sciences over the years,” Morris added in the press release. “I am passionate about the spirit of voluntarism, especially in advancing the sciences, so I very much look forward to serving the AAPS membership and working with the dedicated AAPS staff on the continuing success and growth of the organization.”
