Protos 3 is Synbiosis’ automated colony counter and chromogenic identification system.
Synbiosis’ automated colony counter and chromogenic identification system, Protos 3, is designed for walk-away colony counts in seconds and identifying microbial species by their color on chromogenic plates. The counter features a CCD camera with unique three-color LED lighting, which rapidly images an infinite number of colony colors on one plate and detects colonies as small as 0.043 mm.
The counter’s GLP-compliant software creates accurate counts and plate images and completes a full audit trail to eliminate errors.
