GS1 US announces the expansion of its advisory services program to address industry needs.

GS1 US announced on Jan. 26, 2016 that the companies advisory services program has been expanded to address GS1 Standards implementation challenges. Launched in February 2015, GS1 Standards are widely used information standards that identify products, services, and locations to support global supply chain visibility and efficiency.

The program expansion was developed based on industry needs, including regulatory changes, omni-channel strategies, and the growing need to ensure quality data. The expanded program includes GS1 Standards implementation and education support in the following areas:

  • Data quality solutions in support of the GS1 US National Data Quality Program

  • Electronic Product Code (EPC) enabled radio frequency identification (RFID)

  • Product images and attributes

  • Unique device identification (UDI) and Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) in the healthcare industry

  • Supply chain visibility and traceability

  • Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) implementation and Major Release 3 transitions.

According to a press announcement from GS1 US, companies with an interest in tailored support for integrating standards into their operations will receive business assessments, training, and educational materials from the company.
