3M Launches Production-Scale Sizes of its Upstream Purifiers

The new sizes follow the 2014 launch of the company’s fully disposable purifier.

 

3M announced the launch of production-scale variants of its year-old upstream product, the Emphaze AEX Hybrid. The new sizes can accommodate process volumes of up to 25,000 liters.

According to the company, use of the purifier can reduce host-cell protein load by 25–35% and helps increase Protein A column output purity while requiring less aggressive column cleaning, effectively extending the life of a chromatography column.
